Sony FE 100mm f/2.8 MACRO GM OSS

I can finally share the big Sony news 🎉 I’m truly honored to be one of the very first worldwide to test and have the brand-new Sony FE 100mm f/2.8 MACRO GM OSS. On top of that, I had the opportunity to create content for the official launch. And here it is! I faced a bit of a challenge while trying to capture stunning shots, as the wind was incredibly strong here in The Netherlands. The windiness made it tricky to maintain stability, and I had to adapt quickly. However, thanks to the impressive Optical SteadyShot technology in the lens, I was still able to achieve sharp and detailed shots despite the conditions. I used the Sony FE 100mm f/2.8 MACRO GM OSS in combination with my Sony A7R V, which is a macro dream.

Lighter

The Sony FE 100mm f/2.8 MACRO GM OSS itself is also much lighter to hold, which makes a big difference during long shooting sessions. This is especially nice because I shoot handheld most of the time, giving me the freedom to move around and quickly adjust my position while searching for the perfect angle.

Teleconverters

One of the biggest game changers with the Sony FE 100mm f/2.8 MACRO GM OSS is its compatibility with teleconverters. You can now easily mount the Sony FE 1.4x Teleconverter or even the Sony FE 2.0x Teleconverter between the lens and the camera body, giving you incredible reach.

Aperture ring

The aperture ring is built right onto the Sony FE 100mm f/2.8 MACRO GM OSS itself, giving you full control at your fingertips. With just a quick twist, you can easily switch your aperture.

Full time DMF button

It has a Full time DMF button. This means Full-time Direct Manual Focus, which allows us to engage manual focusing at any time, even when in autofocus (AF) modes like AF-C.

1.4:1 ratio

The new Sony FE 100mm f/2.8 MACRO GM OSS takes things to the next level with an impressive 1.4:1 ratio, letting you get even closer and reveal details that were previously out of reach. This means more texture, more depth and an even bigger look into the tiny worlds we love to explore.
