About Kyle
I’m Kyle, a graphic designer and photographer with a passion for all things creative. I love capturing small details and transforming them into works of art. I’m always on the lookout for the next big source of inspiration. What made me so creative? From a young age, I was diagnosed with TOS (Developmental Language Disorder) and dyslexia. This made learning quite a challenge, and unfortunately, I never had the chance to attend a formal graphic design course. Instead, school often focused on grades and subjects I struggled with. But giving up? That’s not in my nature. My love for creativity has been my motivation and has brought me to where I am today.
I’ve taught myself almost everything I know. Nowadays, you can find everything online, and I’ve watched many tutorials whenever I needed help understanding something. But by doing things and not giving up, you learn a lot about yourself and your abilities. Of course, there are also countless sources of inspiration that help along the way.
How My Photography Journey Began
During my studies in “graphic media,” I spent my free time creating creative levels in LittleBigPlanet 2 on PlayStation 3. Meanwhile, Sumo Digital in the UK had their eye on me. One day, I received a message from them, full of compliments, soon followed by an invitation to work on the new installment, LittleBigPlanet 3. Naturally, I said yes! It was a childhood dream come true to work in the game industry.
However, living in a foreign country without many familiar faces made the weekends feel a bit empty. So, I decided to buy a camera. Soon, I visited a botanical garden, where I discovered and developed my passion for photography, even though I didn’t really know how a camera worked or how to take photos.
I’ve now been active in macro photography for about five years, and I’ve learned a lot by simply doing and seeking inspiration from the world around me. I’m self-taught and love to challenge myself by doing things a little differently each time. This dedication has also caught the attention of Sony, and I’m proud to say that I am now a Sony ambassador. Following your passion opens doors and connects you with inspiring people.
Why Macro Photography?
My love for nature and animals has always been there. I’m fascinated by how nature evolves through the seasons and how even the smallest elements, like insects and plants, are essential to the ecosystem. With my camera, I capture these beautiful moments, and thanks to my macro lens, I can bring the fine details of nature even closer. Macro photography is unique because it reveals the hidden world of small details that often escape the naked eye. It lets us appreciate the beauty and complexity of everyday things and helps us see the world in a new way.
Do I Photograph Other Subjects?
Absolutely! My photography isn’t limited to macro shots; I capture a wide range of subjects, from landscapes and animals to anything that inspires me along the way. Travel plays a big role in my life, and my camera is my loyal companion. Wherever I go, I try to capture the beauty of the moment—whether it’s a sweeping landscape, a special encounter with an animal, or a detail that catches my eye. Every subject offers unique possibilities and perspectives, and I’m fascinated by exploring that diversity. Be sure to check out my other gallery to see what I photograph outside of my passion for macro photography. You’ll see how I capture different worlds, each with its own story and atmosphere.
